Welcome to the official site of the celebrations of the 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald.

On July 15, 1410 two biggest armies of the medieval Europe, Polish-Lithuanian (Central European) and Teutonic (West-European), clashed on the fields of Grunwald. After a half-day long struggles, Polish and Lithuanian knights prevailed.

Today, many people ask whether it is of any use to go back to the events from six hundred years ago. I am sure that our national duty is to preserve the memory of the great victory that enabled Poland to become a powerful and independent European state.

The history of a nation is like an hourglass: the days of the present time pour out from it like the grains of sand. And the Polish knights that fought at Grunwald, together with their commander, the great statesman and strategist, the king Władysław Jagiełło (Jogaila), undoubtedly remain the most precious and durable grains of our historical identity.

All of You are heartily invited  to join the celebrations of the 600th Anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald!
